SUES Holds 2nd Working Meeting for 2024 World University Championship Futsal

On April 22, 2024, the school held the 2nd working meeting of the Organizing Committee of the 2024 World University Championship  Futsal, which was attended by members of the Organizing Committee, and presided over by Zhu Xiaoqing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University.


The meeting reviewed recent progress in event preparation, key focuses before the event, expenditure standards and financial management methods, meeting protocols, and opening and closing ceremony plans. President Yu Tao acknowledged the recent achievements of each department in preparation and made three requests: firstly, to focus on breakthroughs. Departments should make breakthroughs in key areas concerning personnel, finances, and materials, ensuring the event's needs are met. Secondly, to make a comprehensive effort. With only 48 days until the opening ceremony, departments should deepen their work plans and guide event preparation in addition to the overall plan. Thirdly, safety is paramount. Apart from cooperating with the municipal education committee's safety inspections, political and ideological safety should also be ensured with relevant contingency plans. The committee hopes all members will work together to complete the event.

Vice-Secretary and Vice-President Zhu Xiaoqing urged each department of the organizing committee to proactively engage with Songjiang District, obtain support from relevant functional agencies, and work together to complete the preparations with high quality in the final sprint stage.

Vice President Xia Chunming provided constructive opinions on the preparation work for the event from six aspects: funds, time, quality, safety, contingency plans, and coordination.

Vice President Xu Kaiyu gave guidance on the preparation work for the event from three aspects: identifying problems, clarifying responsibilities, ensuring personnel attendance, and promoting unified coordination.

The committee members discussed the opening and closing ceremony plans, expenditure standards and financial management methods, and meeting protocols. They also exchanged views on recent progress in event preparation and the focus of the next stage of work, expressing their determination to strictly adhere to the requirements of FISU, as well as the instructions of the municipal government and the municipal education committee, to do their utmost to complete the final stage of event preparation, showcasing the school's image and contributing to the construction of Shanghai as a globally renowned sports city.
