On the morning of April 17, SUES held a work meeting in conference room 306 of the Administration Building to advance the preparations for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2024 World University Championship Futsal. Zhu Xiaoqing, Secretary-General of the organizing committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Vice President of the university, attended the meeting. Li Jianping, General Director of the opening and closing ceremonies, along with heads of various departments including the President's Office, CPC Publicity Department, Student Work Department, Postgraduate Work Department, Infrastructure Department, Logistics Industry Development Center, University League Committee, and Physical Education Teaching Department, also participated.
Additionally, the organizing committee invited Zhu Jianghua, Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching at Donghua University, and Li Shuwei, Deputy Director of the Sports Bureau of Songjiang District, to attend and provide guidance. The meeting was presided over by Lv Ning, Director of the Student Work Department and Graduate Work Department.
On behalf of the organizing committee, Zhu Xiaoqing fully affirmed the preparations for the opening and closing ceremonies. She pointed out that these ceremonies are valuable platforms to showcase excellent traditional Chinese culture, Shanghai culture, soccer sportsmanship, and the unique educational characteristics of SUES. Zhu emphasized the need to consolidate wisdom, highlight creativity, and deliver a spectacular event. Firstly, she emphasized the importance of professionalism. The Department of Competition and Events and the Department of Major Events must maintain close coordination with FISU, strictly follow the procedural requirements of the event ceremonies, and ensure that the details of the opening and closing ceremonies are arranged in a rigorous and standardized manner. Secondly, she highlighted the importance of meticulousness. Given the numerous preparatory aspects of the tournament, it is crucial to develop a detailed work list, attend to every requirement, prepare comprehensive work plans, and actively integrate various cultural and school-specific elements into the ceremony performances. This will leave a distinctive and creative impression on the world. Thirdly, Zhu underscored the urgency of the situation. With less than two months remaining until the event's opening, all departments must work closely together and give their best efforts. It is essential to accelerate the coordination of programs both within and outside the school, enhance communication regarding the ceremony preparations, and collaboratively advance the rehearsal and preview work. This will ensure the progress and quality of the opening and closing ceremonies.
At the meeting, Li Jianping, the general director, reported in detail the ceremony program, program arrangement, and preparatory progress of the opening and closing ceremonies. Mr. Zhu Jianghua, Director of the Physical Education Department of Donghua University, and Mr. Li Shuwei, Deputy Director of Songjiang District Sports Bureau, put forward detailed suggestions regarding the ceremony process, resource coordination, venue arrangement, event publicity, rehearsal progress, and other aspects, combining with the preparations for the event. All departments of the organizing committee fully exchanged ideas and discussed the program and implementation details of the opening and closing ceremonies.
